Since its inception, the Department has aimed to train and equip students of the college with language skills to enable them to communicate effectively in their work spaces. To this end the Department has planned its lessons to incorporate requisite elements essential for communication in English like grammar, LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) skills and vocabulary exercises. The department is also aware of the changing trends in the industry and has introduced courses in English for Communication as theory and practical classes. This makes the syllabus contemporary and relevant. Students leave the college equipped with language skills and the confidence to participate in group discussions, personal interviews and written tests.
The Department comprises a dedicated team of faculty members who seek to instill a love for the language and effective communication skills in their students. They use a variety of teaching methodologies to ensure that students come to be confident users of the English language. Role play, seminars, individual and group paper presentations, quizzes, debates and group discussions are some of the activities conducted in class to encourage student participation and interaction.
