About
The Department of French was founded and first headed by Dr. K. S. Lakshmi, Secretary, Meenakshi College fro Women, in 1976. French was then offered as second language to Pre-University students. and later offered under Part I: Language to all undergraduate students.
The Spotlight
A day is earmarked every year for celebration of French language and culture
A course on the basics of French is offered as a non-major elective to all undergraduate students
The Department takes great interest in organizing the cultural activities in the College, with help from the Departments of Telugu, Hindi and Sanskrit
