About

The Department of Chemistry was established in June 1976 as a P.U.C. course. B.Sc. Chemistry was offered from 1977. With the growing demand for Chemistry, the sanctioned strength was increased from 50 to 100 in the year 1979.


The Spotlight
  • There are two streams offered in B.Sc. Chemistry - one with Allied Zoology and the other with Allied Mathematics.

  • The offering of B.Sc. Chemistry in two streams enables students to pursue higher studies in the relevant areas of Chemistry.

  • Almost all the Faculty members hold a doctoral degree.

  • One Faculty member holds a patent.
