Fit India Movement: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Fit India' Movement',
saying the initiative is the need of the hour and will take the country towards
a healthier future. At a colourful ceremony, which included a presentation of
India's indigenous martial art forms, dances and sports, Modi said technology
has contributed to a sedentary lifestyle.
"Fitness is zero percent
investment with infinite returns," Modi said at the event. The student of
the Department viewed the direct telecast and taken oath on fitness.

Lecture on clinical research was organised by the Bionest, J.Sridhar, CEO,
Indian healthcare BPO highlighted the importance of Clinical Research and
followed by an Interactive sessions by Mrs. Shilpa (alumnus) and Mrs. Mariyam. The
students of AZBT, PBPBT, and Biochemistry attended the lecture.

Vandana.K participated in quiz competition on "environment, nature and
wildlife" conducted by the Tamilnadu Forest Department on account of
wildlife week 2019 at children's park, Guindy. She received a participation
certificate.
Single Teacher School Visit
The students of I, II and III B.Sc. AZBT visited single teacher
schools in Porunthavakkam, Keezhur and Gururajampet respectively to kindle the
knowledge of the students in the school. The students from the school
participated in several events and were rewarded with prizes and gifts.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Day was celebrated, the Chief guest Seethalakshmi,
District Collector, Greater Chennai. She addressed the students on the moral
values of life.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Day – Exhibition was inaugurated by the Retired
Professor, Dept of Tamil, Dr.Ponmani. She appreciated the charts and models
prepared by the students of AZBT and encouraged them to keep exceeding in all
activities.

programme on Snakes was conducted from the
Chennai Snake Park Trust. Dr.S.R. Ganesh, Dy. Director & Research
Scientist, Snake Park, Chennai, covered
topics such as the importance of the snakes in ecosystem, an account of all
common snakes found in India, differentiation of the venomous and non-venomous
snakes, antivenom, snake bite and its prevention and first-aid.

“Go-Wild” intercollegiate culturals which was attended by the students of
first, second and third years of B.Sc. AZBT. The students participated in various

SEMINAR ON
“IMPACT OF NOVEL BIOLOGY ON HUMAN HEALTH”
The seminar was conducted by the departments of biological sciences. The
chief guest of the inauguration was Dr.M.Elanchezhiyan, Director, Dr. ALM. PG
Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Madras. He highlighted the
innovations in the field of novel biology definition, microscopes, antibiotics
and the novel methods of improvement. Payal Sengar, Mahalakshmi.V, Gowri.U,
Vishali.S and Kirthana.P.J. of III B.Sc. AZBT presented their final year projects.
