Introduction

The Department of Chemistry was established in June 1976 with P.U.C. In 1977, Chemistry was offered as a Main Subject. With the growing demand for Chemistry the strength of the students was increased from 50 to 100 in the year 1979. The department has two spacious laboratories with a store room, balance room and a separate room to store gas cylinders. The department library is well equpped with excellent books across the spectrum of chemistry. The department organizes guest lectures, seminars and quiz programmes regularly. Our success rate is around 95% and it is maintained throughout. Though project work at U.G. level is not compulsory, few of our final year students carry out project work every year.
